PER-410: Enhancing Planning, Preparedness, and Response to Pandemics and Other Large-Scale Public Health Emergencies

Instructor-led courses are provided in-person and hosted by a local organization. These typically last two days and are delivered by experienced instructors. Certificates and CEU credits are provided. When a FEMA SID number is entered in the registration form, it will be used to maintain a record of the training you attend.

Description

The course goal is to improve the ability of public, private, and nonprofit partners to establish more effective and coordinated preparedness and response efforts for public health (PH) emergencies related to large-scale biological, natural, or human-caused disasters, including pandemics.

The course focuses on developing and strengthening agency, community, and private sector partnerships and coalitions to support whole community sustainable solutions.

The course includes developing a targeted action plan to address issues and gaps that were identified by your state in an initial Program Assessment, and discussions will be held to enhance coordinated preparedness and response for future pandemic, biological, natural, or man-made disaster-related PH emergencies.

Course Length is sixteen hours and provides 1.6 CEUs. In-person deliveries occur over two days from 8 AM to 5 PM daily. Virtual (Zoom) deliveries occur over four days for four hours per day.

Target Audience

State, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) public health agencies; Federal and SLTT emergency management agencies; SLTT mental health agencies; Community and private sector organizations with a role in response to public health emergencies; and Academia.
